Sofia (Sonya) Novikova is a passionate editor, filmmaker, and photographer. She is currently finishing her education at USC while working as an editor at Tricoast Worldwide and playing a lot of volleyball in her free time.

 

She comes from a diverse background as a graduate of a Swiss/American international boarding school who was raised in St. Petersburg, the Russian cultural capital, and then traveled through Europe and beyond before settling in the US.

 

Admiring the greatest Russian filmmakers, - Tarkovsky and Kuleshov, - and following Hitchcock's and Murch’s theories of editing, Sonya harvests her passion for filmmaking from her enlightening experiences at USC and her various passions, from robotics and martial arts to painting nature and feeding squirrels.
